NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGH-END RECRUITERS

February’s ‘Report on Jobs’ confirmed an improving outlook for the technology sector and has shone the media spotlight on the role of specialised recruiters at the high-end of the jobs market. In the London Evening Standard, Jeff Brooks, Chair of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation’s Technology sector group, emphasised the fact that that big corporations were again investing in their IT which was being reflected in increased recruitment activity. On the same day, the Daily Mail focused on IT job opportunities within different sectors. Les Berridge and Dave Pye, both members of the REC Technology Group Executive, provided specific examples of vacancies now available in finance, manufacturing and the public sector. Commenting on the latest trends and media interest, Chris Richards, Policy Executive of the REC Technology Group said: “There are some positive signs in terms of increasing demand for staff and the recent press stories may help to further boost employer confidence. The national media coverage shows that there is a real desire to hear from specialised recruiters who can provide the latest feedback from the front line of the technology jobs market. “There is also increasing interest in the type of skills that we will need in the future which is another area for recruiters at the high-end of the jobs market to feed into.”
